Being on the main tourist route that heads into the Highlands from Inverness there is no shortage of accommodation in and around Muir of Ord, catering extremely willingly for golfers.

Hotels, guest houses, holiday cottages, self-catering apartments, bed and breakfasts – even glamping and camping – options abound and can be easily found online on one or more of the best-known holiday accommodation websites.

The Muir of Ord, our local village, is a community of around 3,000 people, but it boasts a railway station, two hotels, a petrol station, ATM, fast food outlets and other conveniences you may need if you’re staying in the vicinity on a golfing trip.

Some other places worth considering for accommodation in the area – all within a few miles of Muir of Ord Golf Club – are Beauly, Conon Bridge, Maryburgh, Dingwall and Strathpeffer Spa.

If you don’t want to head into the countryside you can find accommodation in the city of Inverness – our Golf Club is just a short drive away.

Where to Stay

Just half an hour from Muir of Ord lies a private highland estate with a difference. Choose from seven elegantly styled historic holiday properties overlooking the Cromarty Firth, in surroundings where you can’t help but unwind and savour the serenity of the Highlands. Enjoy a leisurely picnic in the Walled Garden, cycle around the woodland trails, ramble across fields or dip into Loch Auchoyle. Oh – and don’t forget to leave time for a round or two of glorious golf.

If you’re looking for superb self-catering you won’t do better than the comfortable Canadian style Struan Lodge in the nearby village of Beauly, which has a four-star rating from VisitScotland. North Kessock is a village within sight of the city of Inverness, by-passed by the A9 highway which crosses the Kessock Bridge and then cuts across behind this idyllic little spot. The North Kessock Hotel benefits from beautiful sea and garden view rooms, all spacious beautifully decorated en suites. Keep watch and you’ll likely see seals, dolphins and porpoises playing in front of the hotel, and of course your favourite golf course at Muir of Ord is just a short drive away.
